Fixed in v1.8.0-alpha. Applying an update no longer consumes the downloaded files as it goes — a failed apply can always be retried from the same download — pieces are applied in a fixed order with the program itself last, failures show the real reason and offer Download again instead of a dead Install button (CHANGELOG v1.8.0-alpha, “Installing an update is reliable again…”). Please retest on a current version and reopen if any hang remains.
